I was almost there, but ‘there’ kept shifting.
The hand arrives before the body, the intention before the contact. What feels close resists becoming real.
The closer I move, the less certain everything becomes edges dissolve, distance bends, and you turn into something I can feel but never fully reach.
It is not absence. It is not distance.
It is the space in between refusing to open.
A quiet interference, where touch is delayed, displaced, or denied altogether.
I was almost there but almost never arrives.
