This piece is called When RGB and CMYK come together, and is the first piece part of the collection primogĂȘnite đ created in 2007.
At the time I was doing a course on Graphic Design and despite them wanting me to produce digital works I was stubborn af and created this piece inspired in the RGB and CMYK colour scheme all done with ink. :)
At the time (as you see in some of the next pieces I will mint) I was also addicted to drawing black and white stripes. I wasnât sure at the time why I was doing this so I went on to read about it. Stripes have various meanings throughout history but this one was very interesting to me:
âIn the middle ages, striped clothing began to be a sign of an outcast or someone who needed to be contained. This bold pattern is hard to ignore and therefore used to be linked to individuals who did not want to play by social rules. Stripes were also seen in the uniform used by people who were in jails and the ones who were stigmatised in mental institutions.'
This collection is very important in my career and is the first body of work I produce with a narrative that was somewhat connected. The collection consists of 7 pieces and the works are all done with ink on paper.
