The Secret Masquerade of Cloud Masks

In this captivating work, I transform a self-portrait into a living fairy tale. In a lush dress, I wander the corridors of an old house in search of my lover, like a modern-day Alice exploring the labyrinth of memory. Shot in contrasting tones — inky shadows, luminous accents and symbolic signs — this looping GIF animation becomes a visual poem of searching, metamorphosis and reflection.

The installation unfolds in semi-darkness: clouds, masks, fragments of a fluttering dress, keys, mirrors and lanterns flicker across the animated sequence, turning the house into a ghostly stage. A pale “dawn room” invites viewers to see themselves inside the story.

“The Secret Masquerade of Cloud Masks” asks: whom are we really chasing through our personal labyrinths — a lost lover or our own reflection? In this interweaving of image, performance and space, I create an allegory of identity and desire, where reality and imagination exchange masks and everyone becomes part of the masquerade.
