Astronauts with faces of beings from other times, from the Middle Ages or the Renaissance… The multiple twisted portraits are a surreal mix of space helmets and men, impossible to separate. We are still the same as always. Although we use advanced technologies on a daily basis, for example, for space exploration, we have forgotten or neglected our main problems on this planet. We continue dragging the themes of our ancestors. All these problems are human and do not need any technology to solve them, they are within us. The image of the astronaut is a symbolic representation of the maximum that human beings can achieve in science and technology. The visible face who symbolizes technological progress that supports everything needed to transgress the boundaries of our planet and natural habitat. It's the new hero status linked to technological advancement but also the recognition of the failure of not being able to conserve our planet's resources. The stylistic reminiscences of typical traits of Medieval and Renaissance painting merge with the surrealism of the forms, in a melancholy mood of the eternal present that, profoundly, never changes.
