Still images like this one are becoming increasingly antiquated due to the rise of short form video across contemporary social media apps. Tiktok, Instagram, Facebook and others continue to push short duration video clips in order to capture user attention. Simultaneously, Youtube is slowly transitioning to YoutubeTV. History is repeating itself as corporations attempt to rebuild the glory days of mass media TV so they can push commercial advertising and propaganda. Where's the innovation in that?
Web3 offers a different path. Creators have more control of their content and there is no way to "go back" and inject ads. Certainly, platforms built on top of the blockchain can implement advertising but base layer access to the user generated content on the blockchain remains open and accessible to all. This is just one of the benefits of blockchain technology. An even greater benefit is the literal codifying of free speech. Anything can be documented on chain and there is no changing it. IMHO, this is the most powerful feature of the blockchain.
