Need for green: Longing for Green

The idea for this work began in March, on the border between winter and spring, from a sharp longing for greenery and light. This need was both physical and spiritual: my kitchen table filled with lettuces, cabbages, and other green produce that I both ate and painted. That green explosion on the kitchen table accompanied me for months. The crystal dishes symbolize the retreating winter.
