Open Editions: Happy Pi Day 2024

Albert Einstein was born today in 1879, he would be 145 today if still alive. He died in 1955 at the age of 76. Interesting side note, famous British scientist Stephan Hawking DIED on March 14th, 2018 at the age of 76.

March 14th = 3.14 = Pi

π (pronounced pi) is a greek letter that represents the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter. For all circles if you divide the length of the circumference by the length of the diameter you get the value π. 𝝅r2 (Pi R Squared) is the formula for the area of a circle. If we are given the radius, diameter or the circumference we can calculate the area of the circle with this formula. Thus making 𝝅 incredibly useful.
