Custom chimera animal combinations may be possible in the near future. Combining existing technologies a new era of generative medicine may allow us to have a pet / child. Dolly the sheep was a clone, and last year University of Marlyand successfully transplanted a gene edited pig heart into a human. Currently NYU Langone Transplant institute reports a pig kidney has been successfully working in a human for over 30 days now. Director Robert Montgomery led the procedure on July 14th, 2023 and shows they seem to have overcome the rejection stage of cross species organ transplants. Future bio-mechanical integrations may also be possible and one might opt for mechanical wings grafted to not only ones body but also ones nervous system integrated flight control. The future is full of sci-fi dreams becoming a reality !
