This summer the heatwave has been breaking records almost daily here in 'Sunny' South Texas ! It's dangerously hot, heat stroke, and heat exhaustion are very real. Please take care of yourself and take frequent breaks if you must work outside, try to avoid the peak hours of heat, wear a hat, wear sunscreen, drink plenty of water, or just stay inside with air conditioning if it's an option ! The heat makes a tinder box out of dry grass and other combustible materials as the recent fires of Hawaii have demonstrated on the island of Maui, decimated the city of Lahaina, which literally translates to "Cruel Sun" or "Merciless Sun". Consider drip irrigation around your house foundation to minimize settling and cracks as the dirt dries and recedes. Y'all stay safe out there ! Like my grandma used to say, 'it's too hot for man or beast' !
