Open Editions: Are Mushrooms the Red Pill ?

In the 1999 movie, 'The Matrix' Samuel Jackson's character: "Morpheus" offers Keanu Reeves character, "Neo" a choice. Stating: "After this there is no turning back. You take the blue pill, the story ends. You wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill, you stay in wonderland, and I show you how deep the rabbit hole goes. Remember! All that I am offering is the truth. Nothing more!"

I feel there is an argument to be made that the red pill may be a metaphor for psychedelics in general, or 'magic' mushrooms specifically. The reveal may not be as dramatic as the movie. But I do think it can be profound. Mushrooms are now legal (or at least decriminalized) in at least parts of Colorado, and the Pacific Northwest, and Portugal. While mushrooms can be very fun, and you may very well laugh a lot. I also don't think they should be taken lightly. They tend to magnify existing emotions, and if you are not already happy or not in a good place emotionally, it may not be a fun experience. Where you take them is important, outside in nature is preferred if a safe place is available. You also want to only be with people you like, know, and trust. Ideally someone stays sober 'just in case'. Things that happen are as simple as someone knocking over a candle, falling out an open window or off a patio.

I honestly can say I feel like I'm a better person for having experienced them, although I have not done them in easily over 20 years. It felt as if I could see alternate or parallel dimensions, or that I had more than my normal senses. Probably due to pupil dilation, colors seem brighter and more intense. A feeling of connection was profound, and seemed that it was easy to realize how we are all connected to each other, and all living things. I am not saying I think YOU should try them. Just don't take them lightly if you choose to, as they can be intense. You can lose control. Your senses can get crossed, called synesthesia, where you may see a sound, I've seen notes fly out of the radio with the higher pitched noises moving faster and appearing cooler colors, while bass and low notes moved slower and were warmer colors ! It's been argued that perhaps the 'apple' (forbidden fruit) in the Garden of Eden, was in fact a mushroom. Further speculation that with the insights of psychedelics we may become more God like. I think this is absurd, but we may see beyond the lies we are fed by all authority figures: teachers, governments, banks, police, tech, big pharma, financial industry. Humans are greedy and fallible, and it seems absolutely every market is corrupt and run literally illegally. They are certainly stifling competition, raising the barriers to entry, and giving themselves arguably unfair advantages. Also if you take the time to look, almost universally any agency that oversees any business, organization, market, or commodity... that the overseers, or guardians, or auditors are comprised of people that came from the very industry they oversee. The foxes are guarding the henhouse. Watch the movie 'idiocracy', first comedy that is seemingly becoming a documentary, as our civilization seemingly circles the drain. This is by design, and is no accident, and has been actively planned by the Bilderberg Group, the World Economic Forum, the 1%, the illuminati, whatever you want to call them. The richest of the world have decided they know best and should collude to control our future. We are NOT given rights by the Government or Police, we are all born with inherent rights that are being suppressed and controlled. It's getting worse, pay attention, think for yourself, question authority. I can see the writing on the wall, WEF will tell you outright on their website their goal is a 'Great Reset' and a 'New World Order', they are actively destroying the American economy, so they can start over, with a new currency. The European union is a consolidation of former independent countries, just another step towards a one world government. I have many observations, and many questions. I sadly don't have answers, I don't know what we can do, I don't know what we should do. I don't know how to stop them, or if we can. I welcome feedback, preferably constructive criticism. Maybe you think i'm delusional, maybe I am. Only time will tell. People wonder how horrible things have happened throughout history.
