Anything in moderation... even excess
When I was a younger man, I had some very positive experiences with psychedelics, and I sincerely believe it made me a better person. Maybe 'better' isn't the right word, certainly more empathic, more connected. That being said I also feel they should not be taken lightly, but with much respect. The environment you're in must be physically safe, the people you are with should be trusted, as the experience tends to magnify what you are really feeling, so if you're not in a good place emotionally, or have something to be down about, it may amplify those feelings. Many drugs are better tolerated by the youthful. That being said it's a different world now than when I was growing up. I believe the 'war on drugs' was a great disservice, as so much was scary propaganda and simply not true. They demonized marijuana, the kids would try it and realize they were taught lies, then mistakenly assume, perhaps the harder drugs are also being lied about. I've never used a needle or tried heroin, and now my country (United States) is flooded with fentanyl, and a single dose will most likely kill you, see: Mac Miller, Tom Petty, Michael Jackson, & Prince etc. it's also being disguised as more common drugs like Percocet. It's very important to know what you are buying and what you are taking, and in a responsible manner around people you trust and who love you, someone needs to stay sober and pay attention. Drugs can be fun, but they are not worth dying over. Be especially careful of analogs, the dark web, and the fake / legal pot. Chemists are rearranging molecules to make new drugs that are technically legal, by not being explicitly illegal. H20 is water, but H202 is Hydrogen Peroxide, you can't just be moving shit around and pretending it's the same ! Psilocybin (mushrooms) are natural and safer than street drugs, in a controlled atmosphere. I am not saying you should do or try drugs, but if you are going to, please do your due diligence and some basic research to make sure it's a positive experience and you survive.
