Love is ...: Love is #9 (Love is hormone)

“Love is…” is a series of 13 (1/1) hand-drawn detailed miniature paintings which was created in 2014 with the technique of traditional Persian painting: Gouache & Water color, using very thin cat fur brushes & magnifiers to paint million dots. In this collection simple sentences which people around me have defined as "love" were illustrated. The combination of the elements of Persian painting with Pop art is one of the most important parts of this collection to make a bridge between Middle Eastern art and the global audience. Now these characters are the contemporary Adam & Eve who are living in Metaverse to recreate the history & rewrite their love story. This piece indicates the biological points of view about “Love”. There is a special hormone called “Oxytocin” and you can see its formula in this illustration. Biologists call this hormone as “Love hormone” which releases into the bloodstream in response to sexual activity.
