The purpose of art is not to achieve perfection. Its purpose is to share who we are and how we see the world. Artists reveal to us what we cannot see, yet somehow already know. Be it a radically different worldview, or, on the contrary, one so close it feels miraculous, as if the artist is looking at the world through our eyes. In any case, the artist’s perception reminds us of who we are—or who we could be.
