Cached Creatures: Hair Bird

Hair Bird captures the kind of transformation the internet does best: taking something already charming and pushing it one step further into collective imagination. With two tiny ponytails tied into its crest, the cockatiel becomes less like a pet and more like a personality—equal parts portrait, punchline, and digital icon.

The animation presents a cockatiel wearing colorful hair ties that turn its feather crest into playful pigtails. The gentle looping motion makes the hairstyle bounce just enough to feel alive, giving the bird an unmistakable sense of confidence. It's an image that feels instantly familiar, as though it has escaped from the endless stream of pictures that shape online culture.
