PHOTOJOURNALISM - B&W: Against the Storm

Massive crowds of students, teachers and education workers march in Buenos Aires in defence of public universities and public education. The demonstration, which also took place in many other cities across Argentina, was a response to severe budget cuts, low salaries, and the deteriorating conditions in higher education during the presidency of Mauricio Macri. In Buenos Aires, thousands marched despite the rain, filling the streets with banners, umbrellas and chants demanding proper funding and respect for the public education system. The image of people protesting in the rain became symbolic of the strength and determination of the movement. August 30th, 2018.
