The undead awoke to find that he no longer craved brains. He had modified his body to no longer need them. He felt lighter, almost weightless without the constant hunger. He floated through the city, observing the living as they went about their day. He felt a kinship with them now, without the compulsion to eat their brains. He watched as they laughed and loved, and he knew that he was no longer one of them. But he was content.
