Autumn Tide
Autumn has arrived on the surface. But few know that autumn also finds its way into the depths of the ocean.
When the first leaves fall from the trees, their reflections slip through the water. There, they transform into golden leaves that slowly drift toward the ocean floor.
For mermaids, each season has its own current.
Spring brings blooming sea plants. Summer warms the water and fills it with light. Autumn paints the depths in shades of gold and red. And in winter, the sea becomes almost still and quiet.
For the first time, a mother shows her daughter autumn beneath the water. They swim among leaves that have never touched the ground.
The girl reaches out and catches one.
To her, it is simply a beautiful leaf.
To her mother, it is a sign that her daughter has seen the world for the first time through the eyes of a mermaid.
Autumn Tide β because autumn exists not only where we are used to seeing it.
