What became of us, where professionalism walked hand in hand with humanity, where everyone had a place, despite the flaws we carry?
Would it not be a lovely land if arguments met with understanding, if we lifted each other up, instead of tearing down those who struggle with noise?
Even in the good organizations, those who claim: "we want a better world", I’ve felt the hatred. Not open arms, but closed doors. Not inclusion, but rejection.
A hatred that made me sick, when I only wanted to be the man I dreamed I could become. A hatred built on competition, not compassion.
And so I became just a ghetto boy, a joke to some, and even the psychologists said: "Don’t think you’re anything special."
While we distance ourselves from America, we watch the embassies ask us to sign away diversity, to bow down to a power that calls equality discrimination.
But this is not just a box to tick. This is about the kind of society we want to be.
