Digital Collage: え？

Normally I would make a sort of a single character portrait from the previous collage at this time of the day, but I'd already seen these 2 characters embedded within the collage "SWITCHED-ON", so I felt I had to excavate them. The expression on the right character seemed to say え？which in English I suppose is written e?, but pronounced more like eh? The meaning is pretty much the same as when you say eh?, but maybe more like what? or really? or something like that. I don't normally put text in my work, but I felt it needed something extra, so I decide to put that there. There's something about the Japanese hiragana characters which is hard to describe, but can conjure up a certain feeling within me instantly.
