This is a work that combined a special ingredient. I'm currently in the midst of making physical artwork for a gallery show and so I thought I would use pictures of physical artwork that's in progress. What's unique about this artwork is that I've made it with printouts of digital collages and paint, so to bring that back into the digital realm is sort of like feedback only there's no shrieking sound or weird loops. The title "Seaside Kōporasu" is a song by the famous Japanese singer, but not one of her best known songs. Even if you are a City pop aficionado, you may not have heard this one, but I like it in its bared down simplicity. I don't know if this artwork fits the mood of the song at all, but the other ingredient I used in this collage was that of a picture of a building I took while visiting a seaside town. I wouldn't call it a pretty building as it's really worn down, but something about it made me take a picture of it and that picture reminded me of this song.
