I’ve long passed the point where I should’ve stopped, and arrived instead at a form of indecision dressed as choice. I followed sounds whose echoes never reached me, walked across small stones— slipped, my feet blistered, I tumbled down the hills. I opened my eyes in a well, and at the mouth, two eyes were watching me— they were smiling, but within the smile was a glint of the demonic. I walked, I fell, I walked again. I was pushed from behind, and those who crossed my path I drove mad with my patience, with the chaos of my soul.
