When the corpses of Our hopes and dreams Are stacked
Attacked Like the children Who hiccup and scream
Catatonic and agape From the bloodshed and rape Of the land and their mothers
Their siblings and fathers Scattered like paint and ashes While caches run dry
Fed instead A diet of horror And laceration
While global leaders, old men With more power than sense Dance around semantics, cry out "Defence!" And line their silk pockets With dividends from rockets With their blood soaked investments In weapons and hardship Profit from suffering Does not discriminate
Oil A useless toxic sludge Rendered useless By countless inventions Innovations By those looking To the future And yet There is a hunger A greed A salivation For the profits Bestowed On false prophets Looking for shares In the next quarter Never looking further At the expense Of freedom And the next deposit To claim Is in Gazan waters

The devastating violence being faced by the civilians in Gaza now and over the past 75 years in Palestine is finally reaching the minds of the world. I have served as witness, and have written poetry to reflect on what I have seen and heard, some of which is included in this series. In solidarity with the men, women and children of Gaza this series was created to raise funds for INARA, an organization that provides emergency medical relief in disaster areas around the globe. INARA is currently raising funds for their active effort to evacuate children with complex medical cases and to provide mental health support to first responders and educators remaining in Gaza during this period of crisis.
The proceeds of sales are as follows:
