“When a person begins to break and fragment, there is no turning back. That person transforms into something entirely different; the cracks start to seep, both from the inside out and the outside in.”
Background Story; The artwork illustrates three phases of breaking. In the first phase, the viewer navigates through the cracks. The second phase expresses the attempt to form a whole with the largest remaining fragment, where a single half is multiplied by two to create a whole. This artificial whole does not represent the true whole; the person has formed a shape that resembles neither themselves nor their former self. In the final phase, the cracks have scattered, and the person is left as if caught in a crossfire.
Tools and Technique; The source visuals and audio were created using AI. White noise was sourced from Pixabay. Images were created using Copilot, and figures were edited to have an oil painting look using Procreate. Only quality enhancement was applied to the frame image. Insects were sourced from Canva in PNG format, with no changes made other than color alteration. Mental Canvas was used for 3D rendering, Procreate Dreams for animation, and Premiere Rush for the final video.
