Photograph of a Guayacan or Curaire Tree
It is a tree native to the tropical zones of Central and South America, with yellow flowers that adorn its canopy, especially in spring. The name “Guayacán” can also refer to other species, such as Tabebuia chrysantha, which is the national tree of Venezuela and is known as araguaney. In addition, there is the Guayacán de bola or Bulnesia arborea, which is found in northern South America and is used in the international market as lignum vitae because of its similar properties to the Guaiacum genus Guaiacum.

Es un árbol nativo de las zonas tropicales de Centroamérica y Sudamérica, con flores amarillas que adornan su copa, especialmente en primavera. El nombre «Guayacán» también puede referirse a otras especies, como Tabebuia chrysantha, que es el árbol nacional de Venezuela y se conoce como araguaney. Además, existe el Guayacán de bola o Bulnesia arborea, que se encuentra en el norte de Sudamérica y se usa en el mercado internacional como lignum vitae por sus propiedades similares al guayacán del género Guaiacum.
