This STAiMP was originally issued in the Euro Zone. A historically significant stamp that was mass produced during the days of the Black Hand Society. Any package bearing this stamp was immediately passed on, no questions asked. No one ever discussed where the package came from or where it was going. Rarely would a postal worker hand deliver a package with this stamp. One might occasionally spot a package left on a doorstep or street corner, but it was best to avoid eye contact.
Many stamps with this design were produced but few survived. Traditionally the stamp and associated packaging were burned upon receipt, making this an extremely rare edition.
The stamp is in good condition with minor chipping on the edges and two ink markings in the upper right corner. The top perforation is trimmed to a straight edge. From the estate collection of Robert Matheson. 1of1.
