It was late at night, all the subways had stopped their commute. As a wandered, the night searching for a nice scene, suddenly the storm hit. There was no refuge to be taken, it was stronger than any other storm I had been in and yet, as I made my way through the rain, there came a man. He was swaying as in a drunken stupor. It could have been the wind and rain, or perhaps it was alcohol, but as I saw this man make his way through the darkness, I raied my camera and took this photograph. The next day as I looked through my images, I was a little upset that the image was not as sharp as I would have liked, but in time I came to appreciate the beauty in this photograph. Of all the images I had shot that were not entirely in focus, this one came with a story. The story of the man with a mind flay. When creating this scene, I tried to imagine what was going through his mind, was it alcohol, was it drugs? What kind of world was he witnessing as he struggled to keep his footing. I wonder until today...
