The artwork was created as a digital collage in Procreate, composed of approximately 83 individual layers. Each layer was carefully constructed to control composition, light, transparency, and detail. The layered process mirrors the meditative and disciplined nature of the Japanese garden itself. This work depicts a floating crystalline Japanese garden, a form that, for me, represents discipline, patience, silence, and understated elegance. The Japanese garden is a space of restraint and contemplation where every element exists with intention and minimal intervention. Designed in the style of a Japanese miniature garden, all components of this work are rendered in crystal, emphasizing delicacy, balance, and lasting value. At the top and bottom of the composition, I have incorporated a geometric structure I call “Gereh Ma.” I originally designed this knot by hand with pencil in 2021, and later developed it through mirror-work in my physical practice. The word “Ma” means “We,” symbolizing unity, collectivity, and shared presence. Positioned above and below the garden, Gereh Ma functions as a structural and conceptual frame, holding the garden within a state of balance and togetherness. At the center of the image, a crystalline circular form contains my own eye. This eye represents the artist’s gaze. Due to the refraction of crystal, when viewed head-on, the eye appears multiplied so that a viewer standing in front of it perceives many eyes at once, much like looking through real crystal. This element speaks to reflection, multiplicity of vision, and collective perception. In the four corners of the composition, four DNA-like structures extend outward, each terminating in a crystal lotus flower. These forms reference biological memory, continuity, and connection, while the lotus symbolizes purity, growth, and beauty emerging through discipline and patience. This floating Japanese garden is an exploration of unity between sacred geometry, nature, human vision, and collective memory a garden that does not rest on the ground, but is held in silence, care, and shared stewardship.
