Two weeks had passed since I left the battlefield. The echoes of war still rang in my ears. I embarked on a trip with my son, a fresh start, a step away from the turmoil. As we wandered, my son's innocent request broke through my thoughts. "Can I take some photos?" His eyes sparkled with curiosity. "Please, please". How could I say no? I handed him the camera, watching as he viewed the world through its lens.
Then, he captured a moment that pierced straight to my heart. When I looked at the photo, my eyes welled up with tears. I saw in flowers a reflection of my past and future. The red blooms spoke of the bloodshed and pain of war, a past I was all too familiar with. Intertwined with the purple, representing hope, the promise of a peaceful future. It was as if the struggles of my past were embracing the tranquil possibilities of what lay ahead.
