Beauty in Hell: Crossing the Line

This photo holds a powerful memory. It was taken right at the border, just before we stepped into a hell. As we stood there, we could see and feel the horror unfolding in front of us. The sky was lit up with bombs. These flashes were so bright they almost outshone the stars. The sounds were overwhelming – each explosion shook the ground and roared through the air. But what was truly terrifying was the silence between them. The heart clenched in anticipation of the next explosion, which could follow at any moment.
