Spectral Memories: Sunlight refraction in GAWD's old upstate New York farm house
"... modified from an image taken in GAWD's old upstate New York farm house (built 1860). The sunlight refracted through the imperfections in the single pane glass windows hits the upstairs stairwell like this some days creating a visual which instantly captures the emotional comfort of home."

Spectral Memories invites viewers on a journey of personal reflection and collective storytelling.
By submitting their own mobile phone photos, collectors contribute to a collaborative exploration of memory and emotion. Through digital manipulation techniques, these images are transformed into abstract representations, honoring the original moment while adding layers of interpretation.
As smartphones become increasingly integrated into our daily lives, they serve as powerful tools for capturing and preserving memories, blurring the boundaries between the physical and digital realms. Revisiting and reflecting on personal memories through submitted photos contributes to the creation of a collective narrative within the series by weaving together individual experiences into a broader tapestry of shared human emotion and connection. Each photo carries its own unique story and significance, yet when combined with others, they form a mosaic of memories that resonate with a universal audience, inviting viewers to find echoes of their own lives within the artworks. This participatory process blurs the lines between creator and audience, fostering a sense of shared ownership and connection.
Through the intersection of technology and art, the series challenges traditional notions of authorship and invites viewers to engage in introspection and empathy. As an ongoing dialogue between artist and collectors, "Spectral Memories" continues to evolve, reflecting the fluid nature of memory and the power of collective storytelling in the digital age.
