A difficulty in recognizing the annoyance with needing. Having a need to be loved and to be seen by the ones I love. Those needs are real and they are there and I am afraid to see them.

To see them would require that I’d have to put some faith in the concept that those need will get met at all and navigating not being disappointed seems easier than navigating conversations about how those needs get met.
