his is a mini series of commissioned work by Michelin Star Chef Hieda Ryohei. Although the work didn't vibe with the chef, but I view it as a complete work, and through the process of completing the commissioned work, I explore and challenge the range my expressions.
The work attempts to capture quote of Eika from Mencius, which coincidentally was the same name as Chef's elementary school. The concept is by working hard everyday then maybe river or streams accumulated into the vast ocean, the ethos of Chef's upcoming restaurant Eika. In #1- Too contemporary, the contrast of land and water was too a bit too funky.
But nevertheless please enjoy the dish.
