AKA - A Really bad day I didn't realize the implications of, for a while...
I was in the Army for a while before I went to Airborne school.
Long story short, it was a wild ride, but no real war because I joined at 17 and was still in high school, and had a Nerd MOS that meant I had to graduate, so I was on a weird program thing between Reserves/Active. I grew up around real life GI Joes as a little kid, though. And I was finally doing what I originally joined to do.
The entirety of jump school even went fine. It was that LAST fuckin' jump that did it.
Another long story short - Probably higher wind than what you would consider "within regs". A sudden shift in it very near ground level. Hitting the hardball while set up to PLF in the opposite direction I was originally landing in.
OOPS. There went my fucking career! There was a bunch of pain, and noise, but the tiny noise, the one that is the name of this piece, deep in a couple spots on my fucking spine, was the one that popped, or rather burned up, my dream bubble.
I didn't even know for like another 2 years or so. Weird shit. Finished with that effed up jump, picked up my shit, ran to the bus, and went to my next assignment, worked a while, then just started having problems, and more problems, and more problems, and so on. Few years later, I got out, and finally went a bit softish, physically speaking, and THEN, shit got real, and I finally realized what had actually happened.
Fast forward a bit, I'm on heavy pain killers because I found out I really fucked my back up bad on that last jump, out all the time, SSRI's and all kinda shit for pain management, doing PT, started Muay Thai, etc, but still soft and chubby bc new dad after meeting my wife and full time civi job in IT, not doing much physically every day anymore, but working hard 'mentally' - this was when I was big into mining, supercomputer weirdo whateverhat shit, and just hiding in my lair all the time, too.
I sorta ended up going nuts. Real nuts at a certain point. Another long story I'll make very short:
Unimportant bullshit, it happened, I was crazy on mind-altering, yet prescribed pills -> it affected me -> real legal shit->real jail lol -> learned -> got my shit together.
Why did tell you all that? I said I'd mint 2 pieces tonight. Inspired by my one of my favorite artists I've recently discovered, @TEXADELIC_EXP, and thanks to a reminder I gave myself about holding back on them when I was thanking @S8S888S8S1 for minting one of 'The Negative Ones'...I found a reason to sort of, re-iterate them!
I'm going to share a playlist with you in the next piece. It will show how well I know my music, first off - I love music, LOTS of music - it'll fully illustrate a mental state associated with one of the fuckers in TNO, and it's dedicated to the shitheads that ruined my day today. This is also a pair, because - all of that explains what I'll tell you in the last short story the next part, haha!
