They run through rivers made of glass and flame, Bare feet bleeding, but they feel no shame— Angels once, now dressed in soot and fear, Their laughter drowned by demons near.
Hair of moonlight tangled in despair, Eyes like comets slicing sulfur air, Their dresses torn by claws unseen, In hell’s red corridors they flee between.
The sky is cracked—obsidian rain, Drips of sorrow, streaks of pain. Behind them echo monstrous cries, A thousand eyes in molten skies.
They leap through ruins, hearts ablaze, Each breath a prayer, each step a maze. The world itself a burning stage, Where beauty runs from hatred’s rage.
Their tears ignite the ashen ground, Still they run, without a sound. Through shadows’ jaws they chase the dawn, Until all demons are withdrawn.
And when at last the night lets go, They stand, reborn, in ember’s glow— From hell they fled, yet still they gleam, The beautiful runaways of a broken dream. NNN
