Archive: The Observer

We spend so much desperate energy avoiding the things that frighten us most.

The emergence of The Observer is the consequence of The Apparatus's hubris: the paralyzing tension of the refusal to look. It is the violent act of binding the perception tight and sealing off the center, because looking directly at the sheer magnitude of what it takes to survive would break the architecture entirely. The body glitches downward into the void, heavy and sick with the agonizing effort of remaining blind.
