The third movement usually comes in the form of a scherzo (“joke”) or minuet. You can hear the dance-like qualities of this movement in its time signature, usually in triple meter — that means that you should have no problem counting along “one-two-three, one-two-three” to the music. The minuet is actually a dance with French roots, and features stepping in that three-count time.
