Limitations in art are stimulating. Limited frames, limited colour palette – all this sets boundaries that are fun to work within and to break using artistic means. Because of this, GIFs have been my medium of choice for the last couple of years.
Still Life is a GIF sketch of inanimate objects, and yet, because it’s a GIF, nothing is really still. Nature is not morte when it’s drawn in wobbly lines and textures.
