Through the Veil of Blood

I took this photograph in Istanbul in 2010, during the protests against Israel. Israel’s treatment of Palestine did not begin yesterday; for many years they have continued their atrocities against the people living there.

Israel’s policies toward the Palestinian people are a blatant violation of human rights. The ongoing occupation, blockade, and violence systematically deny civilians their most basic right to life. These practices wound not only Palestine but also the conscience of humanity as a whole. Justice and peace can only be achieved once these oppressive policies come to an end.
