This song I created months ago, an attempt to translate into sound how I felt about my life partner — something beyond silence, yet too vast for words. It speaks of the whole synesthetic experience of sharing a life with someone. I wanted to build a cathedral, an immaterial sacred palace, a Taj Mahal — anything that could embody the devotion I hold for this love, and now specially for truth.
Beyond that, this sound carries my gratitude for simply existing one more day, together, even in the face of fear, anxiety and grief. And I chose this song because I witness, every day, how the cruelty of different genocides and systems of colonialism haunts us and to dedicate this love letter to the humanitarian cause in Gaza feels like the best antidote I can offer to anguish, to the daily terror ~ may our love, truth, and humanity prevail. And may we neither fall silent nor turn away from discomfort, but remain present with these feelings, as real and as necessary as any others.
