We swung the helicopter towards West Hollywood. As dusk approached, so did we.
There it was. The West Hollywood Plaza. Church and all. Beautiful on a day like today. I’d call it majestic, but at a certain point, I’m being superfluous.
As we descended, I could tell something was amiss.
The parking lot had plenty of cars, but no one was milling about. It was as if the buildings were empty. The cars just props.
As we got out of the helicopter, I realized what was wrong.
We had been set up.
Suddenly, the gunfire started.
I ran around the helicopter, which luckily was well-armed. Suddenly, a handsome man in a pink cloak walked out of a door, machine gun in hand, pouring bullets into the sky.
When he finally stopped to reload, I ducked under a car in the parking lot.
Breathe. Aim. Fire.
I hit him.
Chaos ensued immediately after, but we survived until the more honorable members of the LAPD arrived to help us.
It turns out the man we killed was known as The Prophet. He was a failed actor (it is Los Angeles, after all…) who had started a sex cult. And we presume, was the man responsible for the death of Thomas Chester.
Just another day in Los Angeles.
