We rushed back to a patrol car to call in a description on the radio.
But what would we describe? A man on a bicycle? A silhouette that seemed to hide in the shadows, even on a sunny day?
It sounded like we were describing a mythical figure.
"All units. Be on the lookout for a suspicious biker. We don't have a description, but we know he is in the Beverly Hills area."
I kicked the car. "Dammit."
But before I could get too worked up, a call came in on the radio.
"Detective Crimson. We think we have eyes on your perp. A man is biking in a full black outfit and appears to be wearing a ski mask. Seemed suspicious."
"Seemed suspicious. Jesus," I muttered. I decided to resist thinking about how dumb these officers were. Instead, I hopped into the car.
"Go, go, go.”
