VideoConcrete: Nautilidae

Nautilidae....Having survived relatively unchanged for hundreds of millions of years, nautiluses represent the only living members of the subclass Nautiloidea, and are often considered "living fossils".....I can't argue with a 100,000,000 year track record...and I'm amazed that she showed up in the signal pathways...

Image generated by 3 layers of interactive video feedback keyed together. The 1st layer is a rotating camera I built pointed at the main screen in my video diorama. The camera-to-screen feedback loop is generating the nautilus shape. 2nd layer is the same loop sent to the Structure video synth in feedback mode. 3rd layer is another layer of feedback that alternates between GoPro and Cannon cameras, (GoPro for the turkeytails; Cannon for the zebra stripes). Sound is from Brian Pedsersen, warming up his reeded trombone and pedals!!
