The guardian of eastern Japan is represented by a blue dragon. In some Japanese legends and traditions Seiryu led the four guardians. At the Kiyoumizu-dera Buddhist temple in Kyoto, you can see a statue of the guardian of the east at the entrance and festivals are held in his honor every year.
