The date on this photograph is April 6th, 2021. It was a couple days after my birthday and I was walking around downtown Tacoma with my camera. I really love the Port of Tacoma bridge and some of the buildings nearby, and I'd spent a good couple hours traipsing around the area that day. I'd bumped into this couple more than once that afternoon, and so when they made their way across the bridge I felt compelled to take this photo. The longer it's sat with me the more I've realized that I didn't think they were strange, I was just using strange to hide the fact that I'm jealous of them. I wanted that comfort, that acceptance, and I didn't have it. I also wasn't going to admit it to myself.
