For years, they have been caught between the light within and the walls that surround them; women who, even when the world tries to melt them down and reshape them, still manage to let a light rise from the depths of their burning.
Some women simply cannot be silenced. Their voices can be cut off, their paths can be blocked, their names can be erased from the walls; but you cannot force back into darkness a light that has once found itself there.
They keep going; quietly, without pretense, carrying wounds they no longer try to hide, and a light they have kindled this time not to illuminate the way for others, but to find their own way.
Perhaps that is where their true strength lies: in knowing how to rise from within themselves and become light again, after every attempt to extinguish them.
