The Pontiac GTO (from the Italian Gran Turismo Omologato) is a sports car produced by the American manufacturer Pontiac between 1964 and 1974; and by the Australian Holden between 2004 and 2006. It was a touring car, cataloged in the muscle car category, of which it is also considered its precursor, that is, the first muscle car in history, giving rise to the creation of other segment rivals, such as the Ford Mustang, the Dodge Charger or the Chevrolet Camaro itself.
