Digital Video Installation
Abandoned television sets in global urban settings recorded by the artist display voyeuristic performances detached from their surroundings. This work examines the effects of digital era sex work on multiple layers of cultural viewership: the performer, the audience, and those observing the audience. The original installation uses 1990s CRT television/VCR technology fed by HD video recorded to VHS to create a dissonance between contemporary content and seemingly obsolete media devices, questioning how technology mediates intimate performances across physical and digital spaces.
The work has been exhibited 4x across Europe and America since its creation in 2021. At the request of the collector instructions and equipment including CRT television, VCR, and VHS will be delivered as a multimedia sculpture.
