In some subjects eye flutter occurred during hypnosis, but not in the awake condition. During passive hypnosis the mean rates of rapid eye movements were lower, but those of slow eye movements were higher than during the resting awake condition of the same subjects or the random control subjects.

The eyes are windows to the soul because they are the most honest part of the face. We can control our mouths, but we don’t control our eyes. When you’re truly happy, your eyes become bigger and brighter involuntarily and give you away, but look smaller when you’re sad and worried. The eyes play an integral part in our lives.
