Far from home (#6) Oscar was a happy boy, who loved to play with his friends and help his dad with their farm work. Until everything changed. Oscar was adopted 4 years before the raid. Oscar lost his mum and older sister to the war. Oscar and his father were lucky to escape. His father hung himself because he could not live with the pain of loosing his wife and daughter. Oscar was left alone and scared.

For weeks, Oscar wandered through the jungle, trying to survive. He was hungry and thirsty, and he missed his family terribly. He didn't know what to do or where to go. But then, he met a kind lady named Kira, who led him to the rest of the survivors.

Over time, Oscar began to heal. He learned how to hunt and fish, and he learned how to build a shelter. He also learned how to read and write, thanks to Aliya. Oscar worked hard and soon he had a new home.
