This is the third completed portrait , here commissioned by @FluxResearch, in an on-going project to use the visual data provided by a digital photograph, pfp or avatar image alone to make a 1/1 abstract art work.
I'm interested in exploring the traditional idea of 'The Portrait’ in todays data driven society.
I make an artistic response to the information shared by the ‘sitter’.
I’m asking if the finished ‘portrait’, in the light of the NFT Communities obsession with pfp, needs to have a physical resemblance to the owner of the image at all.
What is being signified by the choice of pfp?
How realistic do we chose to make our profiles?
How accurately are we encouraged to perceive one another via screens?
I wrote an article about, published here;
